About

Matthew Pehl is a scholar, writer, teacher, and filmmaker. I earned a PhD in American history from Brandeis Univeristy in 2009, and have written on American religious, labor, urban, and political history. In 2024, I completed as MA in Journalism via the Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism at the University of Missouri, where I directed the award-winning short film, Cowboy Strike.
